This is a guide showing the history changes with the Tesla Model Y which should help buyers of used vehicles. This is only applicable to UK RHD market. The specifications of the Model Y do vary depending on the region and factory that produced it. All UK Model Y cars were initially only from the Shanghai factory, until Summer 2024 when the Berlin factory also supplied the UK with RHD models. 

The Tesla Model Y is Tesla's best selling vehicle and was the best selling car on the planet in 2023 and 2024. That's not just the best selling EV, but selling car!

Errors and omissions excepted. Tesla do not produce sales brochures and the information on their website is also brief with the minimal specifications listed. They also continuously make changes to the hardware and do not restrict such changes to model years or major refreshes like other manufacturers do. Also due to the over-the-air updates, existing vehicles continue to get new features and functions over time and therefore can end up being very different from when it was new.  So keeping track of changes is a challenge and this guide was primarily made by following announcements on social media.
