Overview
An immaculate Smart ForFour EQ 5-door hatchback electric car. This car has just turned two years old, with the remainder of the manufacturer's warranty and has only done 2,300 miles. It is the 22kW charging model and also has the optional £500 winter pack which adds heated steering wheel, heated rear seats and enhanced insulation to help retain the heat in the cold weather. These have heated front seats as standard. These cars have a high amount of equipment for a small hatchback, including full glass panoramic roof, radar assisted recuperation, emergency breaking, faux leather seats, Android Auto, DAB radio, sat nav, rear parking sensors and more. Don't confuse the 22kW charger with the battery size! All Smart EQ models have a 17.6kWh traction battery, but have either a 7kW or 22kW AC on-board charger. They are a great alternative to a Renault Zoe (22kWh battery version).

Range
The range of a vehicle is dictated by the battery capacity, driving style and temperature. Just like a petrol or diesel vehicle, range is reduced is you drive fast or uneconomically. For further details, see Range Explained.
The official range (using the NEDC test cycle) is 93-96 miles. However in the real world, it is around 75 miles in the summer. Range is always less in the winter due to colder temperatures and heating use and will be around 50-60 miles.
Charging
The charge port is on the offside rear wing and is a type2 AC socket. This ForFour has the upgraded 22kW AC charging (standard is 7kW).
Charging on a public 3-phase 22kW AC charger, it will charge at a rate of around 65 miles per hour of charging. 22kW charging times are:
10-80% in 40 mins
0-100% in 1 hour
When using a single phase 7kW AC charger, typically at home, workplace, car parks etc, it will charge at a rate of around 21 miles per hour of charging. 7kW charging times are:
10-80% in 2.5 hours
0-100% in 3 hours
When using the portable charger (granny cable) on a normal mains socket, it charges at 2.3kW as it draws only 10A and adds about 7 miles per hour of charging. The charge times are:
10-80% in 6 hours
0-100% in 8.5 hours
The car comes with a 3-phase type2 to type2 charging cable for connection to a home wall charger or public charging post. Also included is a extra long (10 metre) portable charger (granny cable) for charging from a standard mains socket.
Battery
17.6kWh lithium-ion battery, with a usable capacity of approximately 16.7kWh. Battery is owned.
Condition

The tyre tread depths are: Fronts 5.4mm, rears 5.0mm.

From new, the Smart ForFour EQ has a 3 year manufacturer's warranty with 3 year roadside assistance. The traction battery is covered for 8 years/62,500 miles.
Therefore, the manufacturer's warranty cover on the car is to 30/10/2021 and to 30/10/2026 on the battery pack.

The first MoT isn't due until 30/10/2021.

The dash shows the next service is due in 12,500 miles.
Number of owners
1 since new. However, we've had to register as a second keeper to get a V5 as the original was not supplied with the vehicle.

Home charging equipment
All vehicles from Go Green Autos come with the FREE loan of a portable charger, if the charger is not included with the vehicle. This means you can start using your new EV immediately and charge at home using a standard 3-pin mains socket, until your wall charger is installed. Subject to conditions. Installation of a 'smart' home or workplace charging unit can be be part-funded with the OLEV grant covers £350 towards the costs, so typically end up costing around £500-£750 installed. See Charging for further information.
